FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does permanent makeup last?

Permanent makeup lasts 2-3 years before completely fading. Results vary by skin type. Clients with drier skin may experience longer-lasting results than clients with oily skin, who may need touch-ups more frequently. Annual touch-ups are recommended.

How painful is permanent makeup?

Permanent makeup is very mild. Our artists use a secondary numbing agent for brows and lips to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible throughout the service. Most clients are completely numb and able to sleep through their appointment.

What's the difference between semi-permanent and permanent?

Semi-permanent refers to permanent makeup. Pigment is being deposited into the skin similar to a traditional body tattoo. The difference is the pigment formulation. Molecular compounds found in pigments used for permanent makeup are meant to break down over time and eventually begin to fade. They are formulated to be more gentle and less concentrated for a wash of color that can be built up to increase their intensity.

It is important to know that the application of permanent makeup pigments and body tattoo inks should be done by a skilled and experienced professional who adheres to all hygiene practices and uses high-quality products.

What do I need to know before booking?

Things to keep in mind when booking:

  • Allow a minimum of 10 days post-tanning/vacations.
  • Must not be on Accutane for 6 months.
  • Cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Avoid caffeine/alcohol 48 hours before your appointment.

It is also important to keep in mind that each service is customized to you and your features. We are happy to look through inspiration photos, but want to remind clients that our goal as artists is to accentuate your natural beauty and give you results that will complement your face structure and features for years after you come to see us.

How many permanent makeup touch-ups/sessions will I need?

Typically, 2 sessions are needed for permanent makeup. Your initial session is to establish your new shape, color, length, etc. Your second session, also known as your perfecting session, is used to perfect any areas that may have lifted during healing or adjust the shape/pigment selection. Once complete, annual touch-ups are recommended.

Paramedical Tattooing - Generally, 2-4 sessions are required for scars and stretch marks. Sessions are spaced a minimum of 8 weeks apart. Healing time for scars and stretch marks can be 6 weeks to 4 months post-treatment.

Do I need to book a consultation?

Consultations are required before booking any cosmetic or paramedical tattoo service. This is a great way for you to meet your artist, assess if you're the right candidate for the service, and establish your goals before the appointment day. During your in-person consultation, your artist will pre-draw your new brow/lip shape, review your pigment choices, and explain the process to ensure you are confident and well-informed for your appointment day. Virtual appointments are also available.

Who is the perfect candidate for these procedures?

Technically anybody can be a candidate for permanent makeup or microblading in hands of an experienced artist if you are no pregnant, not breastfeeding, and do not suffer from blood coagulation disorders. Things you need to consider before getting the procedure done are: oiliness of your skin, size of pores, allergies, blood coagulation, age and your expectations.

What is the difference between microblading and powder brows?

Microblading is a technique that mimics your natural brow hair whereas powder brows appear in a soft shading of the whole brow surface making it look more like an eyeshadow filling. Both procedures look extremely natural and last from 1 to 3 years. In order to decide which technique will suite you best it is recommended to come in for our initial complimentary consultation.

How will I look right after the procedure of permanent makeup and microblading?

Right after the procedure is done you will experience a little soreness and redness which will subside in 15-20 minutes. The colour is always a little more prominent than final results and will hold for couple of days. You are able to go out in public the day of the procedure of permanent makeup or microblading.
